Map of the Isle Road Trip

Map of the Isle Road Trip

My wife, daughter and I hit four Isle hotels and casinos as well as some of the most interesting places in Mississippi and Louisiana.  At the end of the trip, we had totaled 1200 miles and several new friends.

To wrap things up, I thought I’d list out the posts so you can find them in a single location.  Wineries, maps, interesting museums, winning casino stories… they are all here. (more…)

Old South Winery
I’m a wine snob. My youngest son has me playing with Google Maps.  I took our #IsleRoadTrip and entered into the dynamic and interactive map below.  The push pins take you to the blog posts I did at each of the Isle of Capri locations we visited.  Give it a try. If the map here is too small, click on the “View Larger Map” at the bottom.

Did you know Coke was first bottled in Vicksburg Mississippi?  If you make it to Vicksburg (see my last post) take a tour of downtown and visit the Biedenharn Coca-Cola Museum.
Here are some photos from when we were there: (more…)

Vicksburg
We are on day 2 our our tour of Mississippi and Louisiana.  Vicksburg has been a big positive surprise.   My dad is a big civil war buff as is my oldest son. It skipped a generation with me but you can’t live with either of them without hearing about the battle of Vicksburg.

The big thing here, of course, is the historical battle field which I’m TOTALLY unqualified to talk about (here is another good link from the Civil War trust). So, I’ll point out the nice city, pretty views of the river, shopping and several fun casinos(more…)
